India's fashion calendar turns to Delhi next week. The 2026 Delhi edition of Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI runs from October 13 to 18 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, organised by the House of Lakmé, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Reliance Brands, according to an ANI schedule announcement.

Bookends

The week opens with a show presented by Lakmé and Tira featuring the label pero, known for its hand-worked textiles and playful, layered craft. It closes with the House of Lakmé Grand Finale featuring AM.IT by Amit Aggarwal, whose sculptural, structured silhouettes have become one of the most recognisable signatures in contemporary Indian design.

The return of Manish Malhotra

One of the most anticipated slots belongs to Manish Malhotra, whose Luxury Pret show — presented by Maruti Suzuki NEXA — marks his first Lakmé Fashion Week appearance in three years. The same partnership also presents the 12th edition of The Spotlight, a platform for emerging designers.

Primetime names

The schedule's primetime showcases include Ashish N Soni, Namrata Joshipura, Suneet Verma, Tarun Tahiliani and Samant Chauhan — a roll call that spans Delhi fashion's founding generation and its craft-driven present.

Beyond the runway

Several segments look outward, to regions and to the world:

  • The Fifth Season brings a Ladakh showcase, presented by the Union Territory's Department of Industries and Commerce, highlighting the region's craftsmanship.
  • Eccellenza is an Italian design showcase, organised with the Italian Trade Agency and Confartigianato.
  • FDCI x Moscow Fashion Week features Russian designer Sergey Sysoev.
  • FDCI x Pearl Academy First Cut and NIF Global Presents GenNext spotlight new talent, with the GenNext winners Day & Age, Subbha and Abhishek Chauhan.
  • The finale of the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge, held with the United Nations in India, takes place at the Embassy of France on October 13 — a reminder that sustainability has moved from a side conversation to the centre of the schedule.

Why it matters

Delhi's fashion week has long been the place where Indian design negotiates between couture heritage and the ready-to-wear market. This season's mix — craft from Ladakh, Italian manufacturing, a Russian collaboration and a circular-design competition — suggests an industry keen to be seen as both rooted and global. The real verdict will come on the runway next week.
